Jul 8, 2011 · You program the car, not the fob; but yes any Mazda 3 compatible fob (same signal, same frequency) can be programmed and should work immediately after programming. Carry it in my front pants pocket and if pressure is put on it while lounging at home, the trunk unlocks in the garage and kills the battery. If happens too many times, car battery needs replacement.

My local locksmith can do the key with reprograming for$150. There are Fobs on amazon for $25, are these worth buying and can I program it myself?
