Mechanic's Assistant chat. Customer: I have a Nissan Altima 2018. One key fob indicated low battery for months even with a new battery. It worked fine until today: the fob stopped working even with another new battery. A dealer wants $500 to fix this: new keys and new programming.

For those interested: Notice in the Discharge Characteristics chart how the voltage "drops off a cliff" once the battery gets much below 3V. The 300K discharge curve is pretty close for a Nissan fob that's sitting in your pocket.
