The rear of the key fob case is split into two sections, prise of the larger section with a thin bladed tool (butter knife works for me) and you'll see the battery. Carefully remove and replace with a good quality battery, and click the case back on.It doesn't need reprograming.

Feb 2, 2017 · Check your other working fob. I just recently changed both batteries on my fobs without any issues. There are 2 metal contacts on the circuit board for the battery. The metal contact that looks kind of round needs to contact the negative part of the battery. The other metal contact that touches the round edge of the battery is positive.

My key fob battery lasted only 4yrs, I rarely used the buttons, I placed fob in faraday bag on the weekends. The key fob battery lasted 4.5 years on my 2019 Santa Fe Ultimate.
