The rear of the key fob case is split into two sections, prise of the larger section with a thin bladed tool (butter knife works for me) and you'll see the battery. Carefully remove and replace with a good quality battery, and click the case back on.It doesn't need reprograming.

Dec 13, 2016 · The OM actually says " Battery Type: CR2032 To replace the battery: 1. Pry open the rear cover of the smart key. 2. Remove the old battery and insert the new battery. 3. Reinstall the rear cover of the smart key. When I tried to pry off the rear cover the front button surround came off instead.

Nov 10, 2007 · Thanks for the link. A remote from that site would cost $90 new, $70 used - that's a lot more doable. Still, I think I will look around at new systems. I hadn't considered a remote starter, but I would like something that provides more in the way of audio and visual queues then my current setup.

Needless to say, it didn’t resolve the passive keyless entry or the push button start issues.

I called the dealership, and the parts person said that only a OEM part will work and it has to be reprogrammed at the dealership for around $170.00.
