Any locksmith can dupe off a key using the glove compartment lock, door locks or hood locks. Same key fits the ignition. Good luck finding a key code for a '77. If it doesn't leak, you're out of oil. If you took a picture of a Porsche and put it in your shirt pocket it would leak oil on your shirt.

When I took them into a local locksmith to get them cut, I was told "Porsche factory blanks have some kind of metal in them that can break the key cutting machine" and he knew of no local locksmiths that would touch them. Part number in question is 911-538-903-00-M100.

Door wont lock with key - Pelican Parts Forums
Key fits and turns side to side fine, but doesn't seem to move the locking mechanism. If the door is locked, the key will move the lock about halfway up, but the door still remains locked from the outside. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as where to look first, as getting to some of the bits in the door can be a pain.

Feb 24, 2013 · Removing the ignition switch housing should be pretty easy. Unscrew the plastic cover over the switch (on dash) and drill out the shear bolts underneath. Once the switch is out, you can unscrew the electrical switch from the mechanical part of the housing. You can then use a screwdriver in the switch to start the car.

Originally did this occasionally, but got worse and worse until I had to regularly use the “rescue pick” to remove the key., Battery is fine, voltage is fine. Warning that car must be in “P”, even though it is already in “P”. Replaced the ignition switch-no change.

May 29, 2007 · I sprayed in some brake cleaner into the key hole followed by using a magnetized mini flat screwdriver and massaged both the upper and lower tumblers inside the switch. I then went with WD-40 and repeated the process with the screwdriver and then my key. Finally after a bunch of in and out (not the fun kind) I tried the key and bam, it worked.

After 8 years I finally got off my rear and had some spares cut. My local locksmith had aftermarket Ilco blanks - P06. This blank looks identical to the aftermarket key that came with my car.

The red key works everywhere just like the black key. Locksmith was stumped as he showed me the different shape of the red key (had an extra groove or something).
