Key Fob Battery Low warning message persistence
Apr 3, 2023 · I did try a different new battery and checked the user manual for any procedures to disable the message, without success. The fob is over 5 years old so I wasn't surprised that the fob battery needed replacement (it was at 1.7 volts). I initially noticed the warning message shortly after receiving the Bolt back from some body shop work.

Jan 9, 2022 · What are the options for replacement besides shelling out a ton of money at the Chevy dealer? I found one on Amazon but it requires two working fobs to program and I only have one now. Jan 7, 2024 · Neat trick for replacing the battery in the fob. . . . pop out the "key" in the fob and then re-insert it part way back into the opening where it came from. Twist the key and it pops the fob right open. I kept trying a small pocket screwdriver and for the life of me could not get it to pop open. Swung by the dealer and spoke to a mechanic friend.

Jun 17, 2020 · The keyfob is in my pocket and never really comes out. The Bolt locks the door automatically and when I come near it I push the button to unlock and open. So it was interesting to see the message. I tested the battery and it was at 20%. I tested the other keyfob (wife has on her key chain) and it was down to 40% replaced that one also.

Nov 9, 2021 · Thanks for posting. After 4-1/2 years of key fob use I completely forgot about the fob battery. The occasional REMOTE NOT DETECTED message on the dash and occasional failure of the door handle unlock button (having to use the fob's unlock button) should have twigged me to this. Replaced both fob batteries with Energizer CR2032s. No problems since.
