The F1 racecar designer starts work on the team’s 2026 cars early next year as his Red Bull Racing contract ends.

Formula 1’s most influential car designer, Adrian Newey, is joining Aston Martin in March 2025 after leaving Red Bull.

Aston Martin F1 is reportedly nearing a stake sale to two US financial institutions that would value the team at an estimated $2 billion.

Newey, regarded as the greatest F1 designer in history, has also become an Aston Martin shareholder. The team did not initially reveal the length of the deal, but BBC Sport has been told it is a five-year contract worth up to a possible £30m a year, including bonuses and add-ons.
