AJ EDU has become doubtful for Gilas Pilipinas in the coming window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 qualifiers. Gilas team manager Richard Del Rosario revealed the 6-10 Edu suffered an injury during his most recent game in the Japan B.League, the extent of which is still to be determined by the medical staff once he arrives in the country on Wednesday.

According to Gilas officials, both AJ Edu and Kai Sotto are doubtful for the November games against Hong Kong and New Zealand. Sotto is currently “in the middle” of concussion protocols, team manager Richard del Rosario said, following an injury that he sustained in the Japan B.League.

Gilas Pilipinas will have some big reinforcements back when it hosts the second window of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers later this month.

Nagasaki Velca center Ariel John "AJ" Edu will join Gilas Pilipinas for the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers later this month at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Young big man Kai Sotto and Filipino-American guard Dwight Ramos are already in the country a few days ahead of Gilas Pilipinas' training camp. The two other members of the Gilas pool, Fil-Cypriot big man AJ Edu and Carl Tamayo will join later this week.
