The state of Bihar is mourning the loss of its beloved folk singer, Sharda Sinha, who passed away on the evening of November 5 in the national capital. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that the last rites of the legendary singer,

Sharda Sinha passed away on Tuesday night leaving a huge void in the hearts of many who cherished her folk songs and huge contribution to the 'chhath' songs and Bhojpuri music. Her last rites will be performed with State Honours.

Sharda Sinha's Chhath Geet remain favourites among her fans. Her last album of devotional songs was released in 2006.

Sharda Sinha, also called Bihar Kokila, is currently on ventilator support and PM Modi has reached out to her family in these tough times. The folk singer is one of the most popular artists that Bihar has given to the country.
