PHOENIX — A now-bankrupt furniture store is closing all of its roughly 370 locations across the country, including seven in the Valley.

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — The closure of 328 American Freight stores is underway, including the one location in Western New York. The American Freight location at 778 Niagara Falls Boulevard in North Tonawanda has started the closing process.

METAIRIE, La. — A large furniture chain announced the closure of all of its locations nationwide earlier this month, including four in Louisiana. Hilco Consumer-Retail, the parent company of American Freight, announced recently that it would close all 328 stores in the United States. The company has begun sales at all locations.

A nationwide furniture and appliance store is closing all locations including one in Columbia and 9 others. Sales are underway.

Store closing sales have begun in-store and online, with discounts of up to 30% off the lowest ticketed prices.

The Tacoma location of American Freight will close along with the other 327 stores in the United States. The parent company of the nationwide appliance and furniture store, Franchise Group, began Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in federal court in Delaware.

The store closing announcement comes days after American Freight's parent company announced restructuring as part of a bankruptcy filing.
