The NBA said Tuesday that if a foul should have been called on a play it now can be assessed shortly after the fact.

The NBA on Tuesday came up with another way that if the officials see a foul, the officials may call a foul. The league’s Board of Governors approved an expansion in the use of replay to permit officials to retroactively call a foul they see while reviewing the replay of an out-of-bounds ruling triggered by a coach’s challenge.
