The man responsible for a deadly truck attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans has been identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen from Texas, the FBI said. He was a U.S. Army veteran who lived in Houston.

New Orleans’ famed Bourbon Street devolved into a grisly crime scene just hours into the new year as a driver plowed a pickup truck through crowds of holiday revelers, killng at least 15 people and injuring dozens of others in what the FBI is investigating as a possible act of terrorism.

Three victims among the 15 people killed when a car drove into a crowd in New Orleans Wednesday morning have been identified by family members. Officials, however, have not yet released the names of the victims.
