Hyeseong Kim reportedly could have signed for more money elsewhere but instead goes to a team that barely has any room for him on their roster. Why?

The Los Angeles Dodgers unsurprisingly have had a great offseason to this point. Los Angeles has done a good job not only adding external talent to the mix, like Blake Snell, but also has taken care of some internal options. The Dodgers re-signed Teoscar Hernández and gave Tommy Edman a nice extension.

The Los Angeles Dodgers signed Korean Baseball Organization star Hye-seong Kim to a three-year deal on January 3. He would presumably take over as the team's everyday second baseman. That could mean the Dodgers no longer need one of their longtime starters.

The Dodgers have agreed to a deal with Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. The deal is for three years and a guaranteed $12.5 million with an option for 2028-29 that could increase the value of the deal to $22 million.
