A truck driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing through the median near Glenwood Springs. A detour is in place and eastbound lanes of the highway are expected to be closed for several hours.

Eastbound I-70 will be closed between exit 114 for West Glenwood and exit 133 for Dotsero until at least 2 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

A semi truck rolled over in the westbound lanes and came to rest in the eastbound lanes, the Colorado State Patrol said.

A rock slide that closed both directions of Highway 40 in Routt County on Wednesday morning​ has delayed the semi crash cleanup in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near Glenwood Springs.

An early morning crash Friday on Interstate 70 shut down the eastbound interstate near Edwards in Eagle County, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. Around 5:02 a.m., CDOT officials said the interstate was closed between Exit 163 for Edwards and Exit 167 for Avon.

The semi crash happened on Tuesday, shutting down eastbound lanes of I-70 near Glenwood Springs for several hours.

The rockslide was reported mid-morning on U.S. Highway 40, west of Steamboat Springs, not only shutting down the highway, but causing CDOT to delay cleanup on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon from a separate incident.
