Dahntay Dunbar of Flagstaff was sentenced last week for lighting his former girlfriend's Grand Canyon cabin on fire.

The 21-year-old was arrested in May, shortly after he set fire to his former girlfriend’s residence in the park, the authorities said.

He broke in, found a bottle of clear liquor, dumped it out on a bed, set one of his ex’s shirts on fire, dropped it on the bed and left as it burned.

Visitors traveling to the North Rim between now and November 30 should be prepared for winter driving conditions on State Route 67 and throughout the park, as snow, ice, and rain are common during this time of year.
