Eli Crane is out of the gate with a wide lead over his Democratic challenger Jonathan Nez, according to unofficial results from Tuesday’s elections. The early returns from Arizona’s congressional races contained few surprises.

Republican Eli Crane has built a solid lead in his quest to win a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives, as preliminary election results show him leading Democratic challenger Jonathan Nez by 12 percentage points in the Second Congressional District.

Incumbent Rep. Eli Crane faces former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez in the race to represent Arizona's largely rural and Republican Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
