Australia’s star batter of a generation Steve Smith fell just short of an illustrious career milestone and a Jasprit Bumrah-led India took the advantage on the second day of the fifth and final test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

India dropped skipper Rohit Sharma but their top order batting woes continued as they struggled to 57 for three in the opening session of the fifth test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.

Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaksar believes that despite India's batting struggles on Day 1 opf the Sydney Test, the Jasprit Bumrah-led side can still pose a big threat to Australia for the match. India's top-order continued to struggle against Australia even after Rohit Sharma was rested for the match.

The scenarios are clear-cut for Australia going into the final match of the five-test series with India at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
