De La Cruz defeated Democrat Michelle Vallejo for Texas’ 15th Congressional District in a rematch from two years ago.

Both major parties poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into winning the seat, a rematch between Mayra Flores and Vicente Gonzalez.

Vicente Gonzalez won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Texas on Wednesday. For the second election cycle in a row, he defeated Republican Mayra Flores, who had won a special election in 2022 to become Texas' first Republican Latina in Congress.

Republican Monica De La Cruz secured her seat for a second term on Tuesday, once again defeating Democratic challenger Michelle Vallejo.
