Hurricane Milton leaves path of destruction across Florida, at least 16 dead
Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, Wednesday night as a Category 3 storm. At least 16 people died from the storm, officials confirmed to CBS News. Milton moved across the Florida peninsula Thursday and over the Atlantic Ocean.
HURRICANE MILTON: Watches Now Up For Parts Of Florida
A Hurricane Watch is now in effect for the Gulf coast of Florida from Chokoloskee northward to the mouth of the Suwanee River, including Tampa Bay, and the Dry Tortugas. A Storm Surge Watch has been issued for the Florida Gulf Coast from Flamingo northward to the Suwannee River, including Charlotte Harbor and Tampa Bay.
