One day after Mayor Parker endorsed the building of the Sixers' new arena on the border of Chinatown, a labor leader believes the concerns of Chinatown residents can be solved along with eventual City Council approval.

Cherelle Parker says an agreement has been reached with the Sixers on the proposed Center City arena, one week after hosting a town hall for the controversial project.

Mayor Cherelle Parker pledged her support for the Philadelphia 76ers’ proposed Center City arena on Wednesday, a major step for the $1.55 billion development project that requires her approval. In a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, Parker said the city has reached a "historic" deal to keep the Sixers in Philadelphia.
