Major cuts to law enforcement possible if Jackson County jail millage fails again
After two failures to secure funds for repairs, upgrades or alternatives to the county’s aging downtown jail, the county is asking voters to approve a tax of 0.25 mills to be levied on properties for 10 years. The proposal is on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
