The Supreme Court's chief justice laid out his concerns about courts' independence in his annual report on the federal judiciary.

In his year-end report on the federal judiciary, the chief justice decried violence, intimidation and disinformation and warned against defiance of court rulings.

Chief Justice John Roberts issued a defense Tuesday of judicial independence, which he said is under threat from intimidation, disinformation and the prospect of public officials defying court orders.
