Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warns Israel and the U.S. of 'a crushing response' over attacks on Iran and its allies as regional tensions rise.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei pledged a “crushing response” to Israel and the U.S., as the Pentagon said it is sending U.S. ballistic missile defense destroyers and aircraft to the Middle East.

The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland called the Israeli airstrike in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza "another appalling incident" in a "deadly series of recent mass casualty incidents," in a statement released by the U.N. Secretary-General spokesperson's office Tuesday.

Israel’s foreign ministry said Monday the country formally notified the United Nations that it will not cooperate with the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, once new Israeli legislation goes into effect early next year.
