Indian defender Anwar Ali has been cleared to play for East Bengal by the All India Football Federation’s Player Status Committee. According to Sportstar and the Times of India, Ali has been given a No Objection Certificate by the committee on Thursday paving the way for him to play for East Bengal this season.

AIFF Player Status Committee (PSC) has issued an interim order granting Anwar Ali the necessary No Objection Certificate to join East Bengal FC.

The AIFF had handed Anwar Ali with a four-month suspension on 10 September after he had terminated his contract with Mohun Bagan Super Giant in an unjust manner. He has now been cleared to play for East Bengal.

In a massive relief, Anwar Ali has finally received NOC All India Football Federation's Player Status Committee on Thursday. The player is now officially free to join East Bengal. But will he be available for the ISL game against Kerala Blasters?
