Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena has initiated an inquiry into allegations that non-government individuals are collecting personal data under the guise of registering residents for AAP's 'Mahila Samman Yojana'.

Inquiry ordered after former East Delhi Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit alleged presence of intelligence officials from Punjab outside his residence.

AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal accuses BJP of obstructing key welfare initiatives like the Mahila Samman and Sanjeevani schemes, and vows to implement them if re-elected in the upcoming assembly polls in Delhi.

Registration for the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana, a scheme which will provide monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 to women residents, began today. The Delhi government had announced this scheme in its 2024-25 budget to provide Rs 1,

The Delhi government further advised people of the national capital “not to fall prey to the false promises of this non-existent scheme as these are misleading and without any authority.”

In an unprecedented move, two departments of Delhi Government have released public notices and disowned the registration process started by Chief Minister Atishi and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for two schemes announced by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the National Capital.

The government department also cautioned citizens about the risks of sharing personal details, such as bank account information, voter ID cards, and phone numbers, which could result in privacy breaches.

The Delhi Government's Women and Child Development Department clarified that the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana' has not been officially notified. The department warned against fraudulent activities collecting information in its name.
