One witness told police that he heard at least four shots coming from the home after Smith threatened Porterfield. Another witness said he saw Smith in the area around the time of the shooting. Surveillance footage showed someone matching his description walking about a half-mile away from the home, TribLive said.

A 25-year-old man is facing homicide charges in connection with the deadly shooting of his mother and another man earlier this week in Homestead. Police arrested John Malcom Smith on Wednesday on several warrants in other cases,

Smith turned himself in after he was named a person of interest in Tuesday’s fatal shootings of Antoinette Porterfield and John West at a home in the 100 block of West 15th Avenue.

A man who Allegheny County police were looking to question about a double murder in Homestead has now been charged with the crime.
