Hello Steve, my guess it is a long drive there to the West entrance. You would be rushing through the park, not getting to really see it. I'm from Aussie land so driving long distance is not much for me. Probably your biggest wait would be the car hire place they tend to be slow. Missoula is not much chop one or two good cafes. Good luck.

I'm probably late on this reply but I would think you could call your lodge for a pick up

We did not go to Logan Pass, but every other parking lot we went to (Lake McDonald, Many Glacier) was full by 6-7 am. You do need a ticket to get onto Going to The Sun Road this year. If you do not have one, you can skirt by the system by entering before 6 am (I recommend getting in by 5:45 am). Be aware, no RVs allowed on this road. And this road is the only way to reach Logan’s Pass.

My husband and I have an 8 month old so we are trying to figure out how GNP is as far as babies are concerned. We are thinking about traveling this month. Are there baby friendly hikes? We were either looking to going to GNP or Yellowstone National Park. Is there a big difference between the two as far as a baby is concerned?
A:
There are some wheelchair friendly short trails at GNP, so you can easily travel with the stroller. Same at Yellowstone. Happy travels!

In July, 2019 our family of four will be traveling by car from a family reunion in Helena, MT to Glacier National Park where we will stay for three nights. We will then need to drive back home to Southern Minnesota. We are hoping to see as much as possible at Glacier National Park in three days to include a river rafting experience. Any suggestions for which towns or area to stay and what routes to take through the park to see some awesome attractions?

Hi Tony, We stayed at KOA Campground with our motorhome for 2 night’s in late Sept 2018. Very nice park and they have cabins too, BUT very pricey! We went early to Apgar village and got free tickets to ride the NPS sponsored van up the west side to Logan Pass. It was great, stress-free way to see the sights, and free! There are paid tours (red jammer, etc) but van was comfy and driver was informative. We hiked a tiny bit at Logan’s Pass and visitors center there has exhibits. Don’t know anything about rafting trips. Sorry. We would stay in Kalispell next time, or to the east of GNP as we did not do much of that side, due to road construction. We will go up into Canadian part next time too. Have fun!!
