After you get it done, put an icepack on your face for the next 12 hours, take some pain meds, and eat soft foods.

A deep cavity will taste bad if the nerve in the tooth has died, pus and gunge from the infected nerve space will leak out into the mouth, but the tooth won't be painful. The leakage is preventing pressure build up which is what causes pain.

WEBSep 10, 2017 · It's been almost 72 hours, but not too long after the tooth was extracted and the clot had formed, along with the white stuff ontop of the clot (I've read thats normal) the site started to smell bad. I've brushed my teeth, being wary of the extraction site, and its not my other teeth or tongue. The smell is from the extraction site its self.

Healthy teeth and gums usually have a 1-2 mm pocket. She cleaned and treated them, but the pockets still remained at half a cm or more after a month.
